Geodis is a logistics solutions provider with a global network of over 1,000 sites in 166 countries.

They offer transport services, freight services, along with warehousing and fulfilment, and cater across industries, from retail, to aerospace and defence.

The challenges

🎯 Geodis were named the official freight carrier of the Rugby World Cup, providing bespoke logistics services to the globally significant tournament, with the target of doing so with the lowest carbon footprint possible.

Simultaneously a huge honour and an enormous task, it would involve the management of 80 tonnes of equipment for the participating nations, as well as meeting the logistical requirements for the thousands of volunteers.

The partnership presented an opportunity to teambuild on a global scale, but the method of delivery had to be especially engaging to make the most of the occasion.

Their goals broke down to:

📱 Games and gamification experiences “by Drimify”

Geodis opted to use the Drimify gamification platform primarily due to the functionality of the Dynamic Path™ – our powerful experience builder.

As they were looking to start their campaign as soon as they were announced as an official partner, and run the campaign over the course of 12 months to deliver a more immersive, longer form experience, they needed a solution that could combine games, and have them unlock over time, and visually represent participants’ progress through the steps – easy work for the Dynamic Path™, which has been customised to make everything from digital advent calendars to massive open online courses.

A gamified journey of rediscovery over 12 months

As part of the overall campaign, an official Rugby World Cup ball was sent around 26 of Geodis’s key sites across the world to celebrate the team’s commitment to the partnership.

To mirror this, the Dynamic Path™ was set up for new groups of games to unlock with the arrival of the ball at each new location, with 3 games dedicated to each site.

These individual games were designed to help Geodis employees discover that geographical location, along with learning about Geodis’s presence there; and weaving through all 26 groups, the values upon which the company is built, and how they relate to the Rugby World Cup.

A global solution for internal communications and team-building

Because of Drimify’s multilingual feature, Geodis were able to translate their game into multiple languages easily, and maximise the reach of their internal communications strategy.
