In this Connect 4 game, the goal of the players is to try to align four of their tokens in a row on the grid, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Your audience will need to have their strategy in place to win and try to understand their opponent’s moves!
Above a 6-row by 7-column grid, there’s an arrow with the token to be dropped that players can move with their finger on a touchscreen and tap on the column where they want to drop it. On a computer, the arrow moves with the mouse cursor and is positioned in the chosen column with a simple left click.
The player starts by placing the first token, which drops to the bottom of the column, and then the computer inserts one of its own tokens. As in the classic Connect Four board game, the aim is to outsmart your opponent as the game progresses and the tokens fill the grid, to prevent your opponent from forming a row of four tokens of their own colour.
The winner of the previous round starts the next one, and so on until all rounds have been played. If during a round of Connect 4, all the tokens are played without a row of four tokens being formed, or if the grid is filled, the round is declared a draw. Players have a limited number of attempts to beat their opponent and score the maximum number of points.
