Beneath a 10×10 grid, players begin with three blocks that they can place using their finger on a touchscreen or with a mouse on a computer. These initial three blocks must be positioned strategically to allow a new set of three blocks to appear and be played.
The objective of the Blocks Puzzle is for players to arrange blocks of various shapes and colours within the grid to form complete rows and columns, which will then vanish from the game board. Each new set of blocks is randomly generated, adding an element of surprise to the gameplay.
Similar to Tetris, players can eliminate multiple blocks at once to create combos and earn extra points. As players fill the grid with blocks, it becomes increasingly challenging to place new ones and clear rows or columns.
To maximise their score and avoid getting stuck, players must carefully plan each block placement. This intense puzzle game requires thoughtful strategy to ensure all blocks are placed before the grid fills up and the game ends!
The Blocks Puzzle game has by default no time limit, encouraging players to last as long as possible without becoming blocked while aiming for the highest score. However, it is possible to set a game time limit for an added challenge if desired.
This is a tried and tested game format, inspired by the likes of Tetris – a puzzle perfectly suited to mobile, and that can easily be adapted to become a marketing game or a component of an internal communications campaign.
